Frequently asked questions
Have a question about NextStop Mini? We've got answers. If you can't find what you're looking for, feel free to contact us.
How accurate are the times displayed?
We use the same data source as the metro boards and common map platforms. The predicted arrival time will be used whenever possible, otherwise the scheduled time will be displayed. Times are updated in real-time to provide the most current information available.
How do I set up the device?
Setup is simple and takes just a few minutes. After powering on the device, you'll connect to its Wi-Fi network and use the web interface to configure your home Wi-Fi. Then select your city and choose up to 10 stations to display. No technical expertise required! Check out our detailed setup guide for step-by-step instructions.
What cities and routes are currently supported?
Currently, NextStop Mini is available in the Seattle Metro Area. We're actively working on adding NYC, SF, Boston, and Chicago. Cities and routes are frequently updated. Check our Cities/Routes page for the latest information.
How does the device connect to the internet?
The device connects to your home Wi-Fi network. During initial setup, you'll connect to the device's own Wi-Fi network to configure it. Once configured, it connects to your home Wi-Fi and stays connected to receive real-time transit updates. The device requires a stable Wi-Fi connection to function.
Can I customize which stations are displayed?
Yes! You can select up to 10 stations that matter most to you. During setup, you'll choose your city, then select routes and specific stations. You can change your selections at any time through the device's settings menu. Each station can be viewed by swiping left or right on the display.
How do firmware updates work?
NextStop Mini receives over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates automatically. When connected to Wi-Fi, the device checks for updates and installs them in the background. These updates include new features, route additions, and improvements. Devices purchased now will benefit from all future software updates at no additional cost.
Can I request support for new cities or routes?
Absolutely! We're always looking to expand our coverage. If you don't see your city or route listed, please email our support team with your request. We prioritize new cities and routes based on user demand and data availability. Check our Cities/Routes page to see what's coming soon.
