Seattle Light Rail Map Explained: Every Stop on the 1 Line and 2 Line

By Nikita5 min read

If you've ever squinted at a Seattle light rail map trying to figure out which line goes where, or just want a clean list of every station without clicking through five pages on Sound Transit's website, this is the post. Station-by-station breakdown below. For the official interactive map with all the bells and whistles, head to Sound Transit's system map.

The 1 Line: Lynnwood to Federal Way

This is the backbone of the whole system. Runs north from downtown up toward Lynnwood, then south through the Rainier Valley all the way to Federal Way. It's the line most people think of when they picture Seattle light rail.

1 Line — North to South
Lynnwood City Center

Shoreline South / 148th

SeaTac / Airport
Angle Lake

Star Lake
Federal Way Downtown

The 2 Line: Lynnwood to Redmond

The 2 Line runs the same tracks as the 1 Line from Lynnwood south to International District/Chinatown. That's where it peels off east and crosses Lake Washington on the I-90 floating bridge, which is honestly still kind of wild to think about. The Crosslake Connection opens March 28, 2026, and from there the 2 Line continues into Bellevue and all the way out to Redmond.

2 Line — Eastside stations (after shared segment)

Shares Lynnwood → International District/Chinatown with the 1 Line, then continues east:

International District / Chinatown— transfer to 1 Line

East Main
Bellevue Downtown

Spring District / 120th

Where the two lines meet

International District/Chinatown is the big transfer point. Both lines stop there. Going south toward SeaTac or Federal Way? You need the 1 Line. Heading east to Bellevue or Redmond? That's the 2 Line. Pay attention to the signs on the platform and on the front of the train. Getting on the wrong one means you're going on an adventure you didn't plan for.

A few things worth knowing

  • •Always check the destination displayed on the train before boarding. 1 Line trains head south to Federal Way or Angle Lake. 2 Line trains go east toward Redmond or Bellevue.
  • •Between Lynnwood and International District/Chinatown, both lines use the same platforms. So just because a train pulls up doesn't mean it's your train. Wait for the right one.
  • •The Crosslake Connection (I-90 segment from Seattle to Mercer Island and the Eastside) opens March 28, 2026. Until that date, the 2 Line only runs between Lynnwood and International District/Chinatown.
  • •For operating hours, check Sound Transit's schedule page or our hours breakdown. Curious what's coming in the next decade? We covered the full expansion timeline too.

NextStop and Link Light Rail

NextStop Mini supports every station on both lines. Set it up once with whatever stops you care about and it shows live arrivals around the clock. Check our supported routes or pick one up from the shop.
